"Ibero American Network of Nuclear Astrophysics"
Previous IANNA Experimental Campaign (March - April 2023)
IANNA's next experimental campaign is scheduled to run from March 20-31, 2023 and should continue through April 2023 (with dates to be defined). In the context of the collaboration between the TANDAR laboratory (Argentina) and the Universities of São Paulo (Brazil) and Seville (Spain), it is planned to measure 12,13C+119,120Sn nuclear reactions. The measurements will be carried out at the Nuclear Physics Open Laboratory, located at the University of São Paulo (USP), in Brazil. The experiment will be carried out using the 8MV tandem pelletron accelerator, coupled to the new 30B nuclear reaction chamber, developed to study the reaction mechanisms of weakly bound nuclei and determine the respective reaction rates. The main objectives are to measure the elastic dispersion of projectiles; the inelastic excitation of projectiles and targets; neutron transfer(s) (capture and loss); in addition to detecting breakup fragments, for which kinematic coincidences could be explored. The configuration 13C+119Sn→12C+120Sn is of special interest, since both components will be considered as input and output products.
UPDATE MARCH 31, 2023.
The first stage of the experiment is done: The experimental setup, a sample spectrum of the 12C + (120Sn,197Au) reactions and part of the Working Group are shown. |
