Next experimental campaign at Sao Paulo

"Ibero American Network of Nuclear Astrophysics"

IANNA's next experimental campaign is scheduled to run from April 15th to May 3rd, 2024. In the context of the collaboration between the TANDAR laboratory (Argentina) and the Universities of São Paulo (Brazil) and Seville (Spain), it is planned to measure 10,11B+64Zn and 12,13C+64Zn nuclear reactions. The measurements will be carried out at the Nuclear Physics Open Laboratory, located at the University of São Paulo (USP), in Brazil. The experiment will be carried out using the 8MV pelletron tandem accelerator, coupled to the new 30B nuclear reaction chamber, developed to study weakly bound nuclei reactions mechanisms and determine the respective reaction rates. The main objectives are to measure the elastic dispersion of projectiles; the inelastic excitation of projectiles and targets; neutron transfer(s) (capture and loss); in addition to detecting breakup fragments, for which kinematic coincidences should be explored. Additionally, the results will be compared with experimental data using the same 64Zn target, and different projectiles, isotopes of He, Li, Be and B, such as, 4,6He, 6,7Li, 9,10,11Be and 8B.
